Maternity Nurse Training Course Content

How do we structure our Maternity Nurse Courses?

Our maternity nurse qualifications are pitched at level 4, (foundation degree standard) and learners can choose which level to complete the post course assessment, level 3 (A Level standard) or level 4 (Degree standard). We only recommend that candidates complete the level 4 assessment if they have already completed a level 3 or 4 qualification before.

We understand the importance of ongoing support, and regularly run free webinars, CPD workshops and business coaching sessions for candidates. These sessions enable candidates to keep up to date with best practice, meet others and network.

Maternity Nurse Training Assessment

Our courses are practical and evidence based. We provide support to our students inside and outside of the course, and recognise that for many people attending English may not be their first language or they may feel anxious about studying. We take time to get to know all of our candidates and are happy to assist in person, over the phone or by  SKYPE.

The assessments consist of a series of questions based on the subjects taught during the attendance based course. Learners are also assessed during the course (we do not make anyone stand in front of others and complete exercises).

Learners have access to up-to-date research

Learners have access to our resource files, which are categorised by the different subjects taught, and include videos, articles, journals and recommended books, webinars and websites.

How long do we have to complete the post course assessment?

Learners are emailed an assessment pack after the course and have 7 weeks in which to complete the assignment. The completed assessment paper then needs to be sent back to us by email, where it is then marked and assessed by tutors and internal verifiers.

Do you provide additional support?

We are happy to provide additional support to anyone that needs it by email, phone of SKYPE.

The course was well structured, informative and very easy to follow

I completed the OCN maternity nurse course in August as I was starting a new job with a 4-week-old baby and the course was excellent. It was well structured, informative and very easy to follow. The course leader was great at going at the right pace for everyone and making sure everything was fully understood before moving on. I found the course very helpful especially the parts involving reflux and colic, as the baby I am looking after has both. Will definitely look at doing another course with Babyem in the future. 🙂. Louise Paul, 2015

Jam packed with information, tools and goals.

AMAZING! I cannot recommend this two day Maternity Nurse Course enough, both Lyndsey and Emma are a fountain of knowledge and they relay their wisdom and experience to the group so well; they don’t patronise or make you feel silly. The course is jam packed with information, tools and goals. They also enlisted the help of a well known agency who talked about becoming self employed, contracts, gaining work and much more! I cannot wait to put what I have learnt to use and already thinking about booking my next course with them! A huge thank you x

The placements helped me gain paid work!

This company lives up to its reputation of being very professional and knowledgeable. Did the level 4 MNT course, the tutor was amazing and really knowledgeable, and being in a 5* hotel was great too. Best of all, I was placed with 2 families with twins and through that have got paid work! Thank you to the whole of the Babyem team. X.
