This OCN Level 3 & 4 Sleep Training course is suitable for maternity nurses, nannies and health professionals looking to gain additional knowledge in supporting families with sleep in a gentle and holistic way.
Led by Holistic Sleep Coach & International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Lyndsey Hookway, this practical sleep course consists of 1 day online training content + 1 day attendance and supports candidates to understand the different approaches to supporting families with sleep, how to create the right sleep environment and how to effectively complete sleep consultations with parents, exploring real life case studies.
The advanced level gentle sleep course explores key factors that contribute to babies and children waking in the night including sleep regression, developmental mile stones, cognitive changes, nutritional factors and environmental factors. The course also addresses sleeping behaviours in older children including child psychology and how different types of attachment can manifest into sleep problems.
Our goal is to provide gentle evidence-based information for families that is respectful of babies and parents and promotes attachment, as well as, infant and child mental health.
The post course assessment can be completed at level 3 and level 4, and is accredited through Open College Network London.
Please note: Although our title states ‘Sleep Training’ we do not advocate training babies or leaving them to ‘cry it out’ alone. We always seek to normalize sleep, provide information based on evidence, and ultimately promote infant and child mental health.
“This course was full of excellent methods for gentle sleep training and the teacher was friendly and informative. This course is perfect for anyone working with babies and young children who are seeking nurturing alternatives to cry-it-out sleep training methods.
Thank You Babyem, it was amazing!”
Kirsty Bennett, August 2015

I loved this course!
I loved this course! It was really useful to go over the different scenarios we might come across, and look at a whole variety of techniques to help children. Going over the consultation process and practicing this during the course with real life case studies, as well as having opportunities to do this through webinars after the course was a real bonus and has helped me a lot to gain confidence in my role.
E Mills, Maternity Nurse

This course was really helpful and informative. Great to have a deeper understanding of sleep and tools to support common issues gently. I found it particularly useful to be able to look at a range of sleep issues with children of different ages and think about the different methods could be used and when.
