This Gentle Sleep Education Course provides you with an understanding of the science of normal sleep for newborns and infants. The course also provides you with a myriad of gentle and supportive strategies to help families improve sleep.
Our goal is to provide gentle evidence-based information for families that is respectful of babies and parents and promotes attachment, as well as, infant and child mental health.
How do we normalise infant sleep biology while promoting healthy and safe sleep habits for the entire family?
Sleep is one of the biggest struggles parents face.
Night time sleep disruptions and short naps are common reasons why babies reach out for help, and there is no limit to the information and advice that can be found online.
But is this information and advice based on evidence?
Do the tips and strategies used to help babies sleep longer take into account long term effects and biological and developmental needs?
Quite often the answer is no.
We believe that if you provide support to young families, especially in-home support, you are in a unique position to have a significant positive influence on families.
What is a Gentle Sleep Educator?

What People Say About Our Training
At time time of completing the course I was working with a family with a teething baby, this threw all the progress that had been made out of the window and with the information from this course, I was able to reassure parents and we have slowly worked our way through this and got the sleep back on track!
It was a great pleasure taking the Gentle Sleep Education Course! Babyem stands for outstanding quality, evidence-based material, personal and fast support, and getting tutored by the top people in their field is a major bonus on top! At first, I was afraid that I would not be able to do the assignment properly because of my English (it’s my second language), but everything was explained so well that I didn’t have any trouble!
There is nothing left to say, except THANK you and I will be back for the next course with Babyem for sure!!!
The Gentle Sleep Education Level 3 is an excellent introduction to understanding the science of sleep. The weekly Q&As with Andrea Strang provided a wonderful learning opportunity to ask questions, review case studies as well as discuss any issue you might have with a family you are working with. The Facebook group is very supportive, and Andrea is always on hand to answer your questions on the course or offer advice, when you are supporting a family.
I have taken a number of courses with Babyem and have always found them to be very supportive and encouraging. I would highly recommend this course as a starting point to learning about infant sleep.
This course had a great balance of written content and practical videos, the course is easy to follow and in bite-size modules, which made it totally manageable around my busy life!
The trainers are highly knowledgable and supported me, answering every question I had the whole way through… I can’t recommend enough!

After taking this course will I be a Sleep Consultant or Sleep Coach?
No, the course is intended to add to your current modality and increase your knowledge and ability to help families you are working with to overcome common sleep challenges. This course gives you a strong understanding of sleep science and practical strategies to help families get better sleep. This will be a particular advantage if you are working hands-on with the child and family. However, the course does not delve into the intricacies of assessing a child and family’s sleep, feeding, temperament to create a tailored treatment plan, rule out medical issues that can impact sleep, or troubleshoot complex issues. If concerns arise in your practice, you can refer to a Health Care Professional or Sleep Consultant/Coach.
Some Sleep Educators, will seek further training to become certified as Sleep Coach/Consultant.
