I found working with twins challenging, but a steep learning curve. The placement encourages you to be mature and organised. As working with twins is more intensive as well as emotionally taxing while supporting the parents.
The placement is really valuable in bringing you up to date with current equipment. It was also helpful to experience the different expectations and attitudes parents have towards a maternity nurse.
It is great to be able to talk knowledgeably about practical infant care in interviews with agencies – it impresses the interviewer and I have since not found it difficult to secure work!
