I supported mum right away from the hospital as dad had primary care of their daughter. Mum had a C-section and was struggling to breast feed as she couldn't produce breast milk. I supported in her recovery as well as adjusting to a family with two kids. Planing and establishing a routine for the baby. Provide overnight care for newborn. Encouraged breast pumping to produce milk. Storing breast milk. Keeping a safe and secure sleep environment. Taking baby to mum to feed. Taking baby out. Assisting with feeding, bathing, dressing baby, nappy changing, baby laundry. Sleep training, monitor baby's weight. Maintaing detailed logs on feeding, sleep patterns and milestones.
I worked with a first-time mum who delivered a baby boy at 38 weeks via caesarean section. I support and cared for mum and circumcised baby in recovery and treatment of Jaundice for the baby. Assisted mum to establish a good feeding routine, sleep training, sterilising baby bottles, colic issues. Trained mother about correct breast latching, nappy changing, umbilical care, bathing baby.
