It enables you to understand the different approaches to supporting families with sleep, and helps you when working with families to find gentler, more age appropriate solutions for common sleep challenges, as well as guiding the right referrals for more complex problems.
The training is led by world-renowned Holistic Sleep Coach & International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Lyndsey Hookway.
JUMP TO:
Night time sleep disruptions and short naps are common reasons why babies need additional support and reassurance and there is no limit to the information and advice that can be found online. However very little is based on evidence.
We believe that if you provide support to young families, especially in-home support, you are in a unique position to have a significant positive influence on families and that’s why it’s important to have the most current training as your foundation.
This blended-learning course enables you to go through key theory and strategies. Then during the in-person training day, you will build on what you have learned in the online training, as well putting theory into practice through reviewing case studies and sleep diaries to interpret sleep problems and practically reviewing how to target sleep interventions to the root cause.
You will have reflective activities, focus on quick wins and how to co-create sleep strategies with families, as well as being mentored at each stage of the day.
Our goal is to provide gentle evidence-based information for families that is respectful of babies and parents and promotes attachment, as well as, infant and child mental health.
The post-course assessment can be completed at level 3 and level 4, and is accredited through Open College Network London. This comprehensive Gentle Sleep Coach Training includes:
We don’t just teach you WHAT to do, we teach you WHY to do it, so that you can feel confident that you are giving your clients the best possible support.
We believe that if you provide sleep support to young families, you are in a unique position to have a significant positive influence on families. Our approach is holistic, gentle, and evidence based and put families at the centre of the support provided.
Our trainers are the leading experts in the field, including Holistic Sleep Coach & IBCLC Lyndsey Hookway, who has written THE book on Holistic Sleep Coaching. This course is taught by Lyndsey and you will have direct access to her on the in-person training day.
We make it easier to implement your learning with our ‘how-to’ documents and cheat sheets, including a naps guide and a night-waking guide that you can share with your clients so you always look professional. You will also have example sleep plans.
You get lifetime access to the online training assets so you can always continue to support your clients.
The unique format of this training gives you flexible and accessible online course materials – including our mixture of text, videos, and quizzes to support all learning styles, plus an opportunity to have direct access to Lyndsey to get your questions answered on the face to face learning day.

“We are really impressed not only with the content of the Babyem course and all that it covers, but also the teaching style and the flow of the day. “

Currently there is no set industry ‘qualification’ that qualifies you to be a sleep consultant. This means that after any sleep course, you could technically call yourself a sleep coach/sleep consultant/sleep nanny etc…
This 2 day sleep course is ideal if you are working alongside parents and supporting them with sleep in a gentle and holistic way. While this is high quality and intense training, I would suggest that any short sleep course is unlikely to fully equip you to feel confident to work with a range of sleep clients.
If you are looking for a more comprehensive gentle sleep consultant course we highly recommend completing our Holistic Sleep Coaching Program, which is an in-depth 16 module training program with over 100 hours of content, where you are supported by over 20 leading specialists in the field. More information can be found here.
There are many sleep courses available out there!
However, is all the information and advice they offer based on evidence?
Do the tips and strategies promote biological and developmental needs, as well as the many competing factors that affect the child’s sleep?
Quite often the answer is no.

The one day advanced level Sleep Training course is delivered at level 4 standard (degree standard). As an advanced level course, we recommend that candidates already have baby experience and have a basic knowledge of promoting good sleep habits in babies and children before attending. Candidates are required to reflect on their current practice and critically analyse theory and practice throughout the course.
We pitch our 2 day course at level 4, as feedback from our candidates shows us that they like to be learning new things during the course and be pushed intellectually. After the 2 day course you can choose to complete the level 3 assessment paper or the level 4 assessment paper. If you have chosen to complete the course at a level 3, you can go on at a later date and complete the level 4 assessment paper, and only pay the difference i.e. £175.
We pitch the Gentle Sleep Coach Training at level 4 (degree level) however, you can choose to complete the assessment at level 3 (A Level standard) or complete the level 4 (degree standard).
If you are unsure which level is right for you, we always suggest completing the level 3 assessment as you can always top up to the level 4 after the face to face part of the course simply by changing assessment.
We recommend that candidates completing the level 4 Gentle Sleep Coach assessment have already completed a course to at least a level 3 (A level) standard. If you have any queries, please feel free to contact us on: 0208 986 9008 or email: info@babyem.co.uk and we are happy to discuss the assessment in more detail.
